Video clipping is a flexible way for editors and social media creators in Nepal to earn from short-form content. Instead of chasing clients one by one, you join a campaign, edit approved footage into a short vertical clip, publish it on your own account and earn when its views are verified.
How clipping works in Nepal
- Choose a campaign. Read the brief: who it's for, the format, where to post and how it pays.
- Use approved footage. Work only with content the campaign owner supplies or approves.
- Edit a vertical clip. Build a strong hook, add readable captions and keep the pacing tight.
- Publish and submit the link. Post to an eligible public account, then submit the link for review and tracking.
- Pass the view minimum. Once an approved clip passes the campaign's minimum qualified views, it starts earning.
What do you need to start?
You don't need an expensive studio. A reliable phone or computer, a stable internet connection, basic editing software and a public social account are enough for a first campaign.
Free tools such as CapCut, VN and DaVinci Resolve can handle vertical exports and captions. Start with what you have, and upgrade only when your workflow needs it.
How much can clippers earn?
Income depends on each campaign's rate, the quality of your edits and how many of your clips pass the view minimum. Rates are set per campaign. For example, a campaign might pay a fixed amount per 1,000 qualified views.
Other campaigns pay a small amount per view, a flat fee per approved clip, fixed amounts at view milestones, or a base fee plus views. Many also cap what one clip, or one creator, can earn.
Treat clipping as performance-based freelance work, not guaranteed income.
How to make clips people watch
Win the first two seconds
Open with tension, a useful promise, a surprising visual or a direct question.
Caption for silent viewing
Use large, accurate captions and emphasise only the words that move the story.
Cut every pause
Remove repeated ideas, slow intros and dead air. Every shot should earn its place.
Match the platform
Export vertically, keep key text clear of on-screen buttons and use audio you're allowed to use.
How views are verified
Each campaign sets a tracking window, for example 30 days after posting, and a minimum number of qualified views. During the window, the views on your public clip are checked against platform data.
Paid promotion, bots and suspicious traffic are removed, and views after the window don't count. View counts you report yourself are never used for payouts, so there's nothing to gain from guessing high.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Buying views, using bots or sending artificial traffic
- Ignoring the brief or changing required claims
- Using copyrighted footage or music without permission
- Reposting the same edit across campaigns without approval
- Deleting a clip before the tracking window ends
Frequently asked questions
What is video clipping?
Video clipping means turning approved long-form content into short vertical videos for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels.
How much can a clipper earn in Nepal?
It depends on the campaign. Each one sets its own rate and rules, such as a fixed amount per 1,000 qualified views, and only approved clips with verified views earn. There is no guaranteed income.
Do I need professional editing software?
No. You can start with mobile apps such as CapCut or VN. Desktop software helps with more advanced edits.
Do I need followers to begin?
Not always. Some campaigns care more about editing quality than audience size. Check each campaign's eligibility rules.
Can I clip any video I find online?
No. Only use footage the campaign owner supplies or approves, and follow each platform's rules on copyright and music.
How does Ekta Studios verify views?
Submitted public links are checked against platform data during the campaign's tracking window. Paid, botted or suspicious traffic doesn't count toward a payout.
